Researcher | Statistician | Data Analyst
This is Toukir, a statistician and public health researcher from Bangladesh. I have completed both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Statistics from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST). My research focuses on global health, with particular interests in maternal and reproductive health, mental health, multimorbidity, and applying statistical and machine learning methods in low-resource settings.
Currently serving as a Senior Research Assistant at the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b), I contribute to high-impact research projects and manuscript development for peer-reviewed journals. I have a strong track record of publications in prestigious journals, including The Lancet, BMC, Depression and Anxiety, Journal of Global Health and Springer Nature publications.
My expertise spans statistical analysis, epidemiological research methods, data management, and research protocol development. I am passionate about bridging the gap between academic research and practical health interventions in resource-limited settings.
Causal effects of complex interventions and social determinants on reproductive, maternal, and child health outcomes in LMICs
Depression, anxiety, and multimorbidity, with a focus on socioeconomic and gender-based inequalities
Design and analysis of observational studies using causal inference, longitudinal and hierarchical models
Bayesian hierarchical and spatio-temporal models to map contextual and geographic disparities in health
Machine learning and explainable AI for high-dimensional biomedical and routine health data
Health systems research, maternal health services, and evidence generation for equity-focused policy in low-resource settings
